25 Years Young - The Inside Story
Colin Iles in conversation with Graham Lee, Capitec Bank

About this event
Capitec now serves over 24 million clients and sits inside the JSE's top 10, yet it still moves like it has something to prove. Graham Lee took over as Group CEO in July 2025, succeeding Gerrie Fourie after more than a decade, having spent over twenty years inside Capitec across credit, technology and the retail bank, with earlier stints building a microfinance bank in Nigeria and at Morgan Stanley in London.
Colin Iles sits down with Graham to unpack how Capitec keeps an entrepreneurial culture alive at massive scale, what AI actually changes inside a retail bank, the SARB agenda, stablecoins and where Capitec goes next. Part of the AWS Founders Series, produced in partnership with Silicon Overdrive and Amazon Web Services.
